Swahili Camp offers a hands-on, active-learning summer camp experience that aligns with the Marafiki Center mission of creating cross-cultural connections through play and exploration.
We invite youth ages 7-15 years old from African immigrant families to join us for four weeks of youth development and enrichment, supervised by English and Swahili-speaking adults.
We strive to foster personal growth for children by providing fun, safe educational/recreational programs, outdoor experiences and group activities within a context of shared values and experiences. Making memories and building friendships will be the focus of our weeks as we move through exciting weekly camp themes. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.
When: June 20- July 14, Mon-Fri, 10am- 3pm
*Please note that camp is not in session on Juneteeth (June 19) or American Independence Day (July 4)*
Where: BCTC Newtown Campus 500 Newtown Pike Lexington, KY
Special thank you to Bluegrass Community and Technical College for their continued support of Swahili Camp.
